Your Market Isn't Saturated. You Just Need More Reach.
I was in Tokyo last week. Walking through the streets. Looking at the businesses.
Ramen shops everywhere. Sushi restaurants on every corner. Takoyaki stands every few blocks.
Everywhere you look, the same businesses. The same food. The same concept.
Logic would say that if someone was to open a ramen shop in Tokyo, it's a very unoriginal and saturated idea.
Too much competition. Too many options. Why would anyone choose your ramen shop over the 50 others within walking distance?
But here's the thing. These businesses are still making money.

Ramen shops are packed. Sushi restaurants have lines out the door. Takoyaki stands are selling out.
How? The answer is pretty simple. Reach.
These shops see a lot of traffic on a daily basis. Thousands of people walking past. Hundreds stopping in.
And none of these shops have enough capacity to serve the entirety of Tokyo.
There are 100 ramen shops in the area. Each one can only serve 50 people at a time. That's 5,000 people total capacity.
But there are millions of people in Tokyo who want ramen.
The market is not saturated. The reach is just distributed.
Here's what this means for your business.
You think your market is saturated. You see competitors everywhere. You think there's no room for you.
But saturation is not your problem. Reach is your problem.
Your competitors are reaching people. You're not.
Your competitors are visible. You're not.
Your competitors are showing up every day. You're not.
There's a very high chance that your business just needs more reach.
More people need to see you. More people need to know you exist. More people need to discover what you do.
You're not competing with every business in your industry. You're competing for attention.
And attention is infinite. There are millions of people who need what you sell. They just don't know you exist yet.
So stop worrying about saturation. Start worrying about reach.
Post more content. Run more ads. Show up more often. Get in front of more people.
The ramen shops in Tokyo don't worry about the other 99 ramen shops. They focus on serving the people who walk through their door.
You should do the same. Focus on reaching more people. Focus on being visible. Focus on showing up.
The market is not saturated. You're just not reaching enough people yet.
