Here's something most business owners miss about running Facebook ads:

You need to spend enough to learn properly.

Too many business owners quit after spending small budgets for just a few days, assuming their ads "don't work." But here's the truth:

Your first month of ads will usually be unprofitable.

That’s normal. Here's what typically happens:

  • Month 1: You're gathering data. Expect minimal returns.

  • Month 2: A few sales trickle in, still likely unprofitable.

  • Month 3: You start breaking even or slightly profitable.

  • Month 4+: Your ads stabilize, costs drop significantly, and profitability improves.

And this happens because Facebook's algorithm needs time and budget to find the right audience. It's constantly learning who actually converts.

So How Much Should You Spend?

The goal is 50 optimization events (leads, booked calls, sales) within 7 days.

  • If you're selling something straightforward (like consumer products), this might mean spending ~$50/day.

  • For high-ticket/complex niches/Limited audience, expect to spend $100+/day initially.

If you underspend, Facebook won't have enough data to accurately identify your ideal customers.

Real-Life Example:

  • Spending $20/day: Facebook reaches 2,000 people, learns slowly. (e.g numbers)

  • Spending $100/day: Facebook reaches 10,000 people, learns fast, and quickly reduces your lead cost.
