You're targeting the wrong age group with your ads
I keep hearing the same story from business owners who tried running their own ads. They spent money. They got clicks. They got impressions. The numbers on the dashboard looked fine. But nobody bought. Nobody booked. Nobody even picked up the phone.
The travel business owner I mentioned earlier had this exact problem. He was selling luxury cruises to an older demographic with disposable income, but when he hit the "Boost" button on his Facebook post, Meta was showing his ad to teenagers. Literal 17-year-olds clicking on his ad because the creative was interesting, not because they had $5,000 to spend on a vintage dance cruise.
This is what happens when you boost a post from your phone without understanding how the algorithm works. Apple takes a cut. Meta picks the cheapest audience to show it to because their goal is to get you the most engagement for the lowest cost. Engagement is not revenue. A 17-year-old liking your post is not a lead.
You need to understand that running ads properly requires a system behind it. You need a landing page that qualifies people before they even get to you. You need a CRM that captures and nurtures those leads. You need to train the pixel over time so Meta learns who your actual buyer is. That takes data. That takes patience. That takes expertise. It is not something you do by pressing a blue button on your iPhone while you are sitting in traffic.
If you have been running your own ads and wondering why you are getting clicks but no clients, the answer is almost always the same. You are reaching the wrong people. And you are reaching the wrong people because you never told the platform who the right people are.
