Why Your Copy Should Match Your Audience’s IQ
One of the most overlooked parts of marketing is this, your copy needs to match your audience’s level of understanding.
Whether it’s a funnel, an ad, or a VSL, your message won’t land if it’s written in a way your audience doesn’t connect with.
Here’s how to fix it:
Study Your Sales Calls
Go back and review 6–7 recent calls. Pay attention to:
The exact words prospects use.
The questions they ask.
The problems they describe.
This is your raw data for what language to use.
Simplify Where Needed
You don’t get points for writing complicated copy. If your audience prefers simple language, diagrams, and direct answers, give them exactly that.
Mirror Their Language
The goal isn’t to sound “smarter.” The goal is to be understood. If your landing page, ad, or script sounds just like the way your audience speaks, it will convert.
The takeaway:
Don’t write copy for yourself. Write copy in the exact language your audience uses.
That’s how you make sure your ads, VSLs, and funnels resonate. and how you turn attention into sales.
