Why Boosting Posts from Your iPhone is a Waste of Money

Every business owner has done this. You post a video, it gets a few likes, and you decide to throw twenty dollars at it by hitting the "Boost" button on your iPhone. You watch the view count go up, you feel good about it, and then you wonder why your phone is not ringing with new clients.

Boosting a post from your phone is not advertising. It is just buying vanity metrics. When you boost from an iPhone, Apple takes a cut of your spend. Meta then takes your remaining budget and pushes the video to a random audience just to get the view count up. There is no targeting strategy, and more importantly, there is no funnel behind it.

If you want to run ads, you need to run them properly through the Ads Manager. You need to know exactly who you are targeting, and you need to know exactly where you are sending them after they click. Stop paying Meta to inflate your view count and start building a system that actually captures leads.
