Which one works better? Face vs faceless content

People ask me this question all the time: Should I do face or faceless content?

Usually, this comes from business owners who want to jump into the content game but don’t really want to show up in front of a camera. They prefer the faceless route because, honestly, being on camera can feel awkward at first.

Here's my straight-up answer: Face content works significantly better.

The reality is people connect with people. No matter how advanced AI gets, viewers want to see an actual human being. That’s how trust and connection are built. Think about your own behavior, when you're scrolling on Instagram or YouTube, are you engaging with random graphics or faceless animations? Probably not. You connect with people who talk directly to you.

Faceless content can only really work if your product or service has massive, broad appeal. If you're selling a niche, high-ticket service or something specialized, faceless content won't cut it. The content still needs to feel human, even if it's faceless, meaning it likely needs your voice or some genuine storytelling behind it. Simply posting animated graphics won't create meaningful engagement or conversions.

So if you're serious about growing your brand or your business, I strongly recommend putting yourself out there. You don’t have to be perfect or polished, just authentic and human.

Later down the line, if you want to experiment with some AI or faceless approaches, go for it. But remember, your scripts and storytelling will have to work twice as hard to make up for the lack of direct human connection.

In short, always start with face content. It’ll pay off way faster.
