Viral content doesn't help you. Ill tell you why

Creating viral content has always felt weird to me.

Yes, it's designed to get more eyeballs and engagement up. It 1000% has its benefits.

I just haven't come across a scenario where someone said, "I really liked your dance or skit video, that really answered all of my questions. Where can I swipe my credit card?"

You know what I mean? It just doesn't happen.

If you still want to make content like that, make sure you have an educational element to it. Those will convert way better.

For ourselves and our clients, we use content as:

  • Credibility builder

  • Social proof

You talk about specific pain points and objections. When customers come to your page and are genuinely interested, your content is going to speak to them compared to a skit.

These people are professionals. They want solutions to their issues. We have to capture them immediately.

You are the solution to your customer's problem. Start telling them why and get to as many of those people as you possibly can.

Let's say you're running ads (which you should. you should do both organic and ads, they go hand in hand). Having organic content and a following solidifies you and removes you from the "scam" area of people's heads.

When prospects research you after seeing your ad, they find credible content that builds trust instead of random entertainment.

This varies by industry and markets served. If you're primarily B2C and you have a large TAM, then you can for sure benefit from viral-style content.

But be aware of who you attract and what your aim is with it.

For most service-based businesses targeting professionals, credibility beats comedy every time.
