For those who think you still need vanity metrics to have authority.
How’s it going! So.
People still think you need to views and followers to have “authority” in the field but that’s just logic fail, and this might be tricky for some people to comprehend but here’s an example,
If you are a coach who specifically teaches the next gen of web developers on how to reach a certain revenue point and you yourself already have well exceeded that point, you might be using Instagram or Facebook to find students to enroll into your program.
Now there is already a big disqualifier here, he is only targeting web developers, that removes a big percentage of the viewership, lets add in another filter, his program requires you to spend money to get one on one help, to help his students get to that goal.
Just the factor of having a paid service also eliminates a big market.
His goal for his Instagram should be to create clips specifically talking to web developers who are already at a certain price point so he knows that they can afford his services and in return he can help them back, when was the last time you watched a web developer reel? never, and you dont need to see it caz you’re not going to buy.
So by logic his views and likes will not be a priority since

he has a target market in mind and his services dont require him being famous.
