The AI Strategy From My Weekend Mastermind I attended.
I went to a mastermind over the weekend that changed how I think about AI in business.
My coach Andre gave a presentation that started with this quote from Shopify's CEO:
"Reflexive AI usage is now a baseline expectation at Shopify. Before hiring more staff or asking for more headcount, teams must demonstrate why they cannot get what they want done using AI."
Think about that. A multi-billion dollar company requires teams to prove they can't use AI before hiring humans.
Andre was completely against AI in his business, until he read that quote and started looking deeper into how to properly integrate it.
He asked himself, "If the CEO of Shopify is requiring this a multi billion dollar company, why am I not using it?"
So he looked at all the repetitive tasks within his company:
Creating reports
Collecting onboarding information
Summarizing sales calls
Tracking email conversations
Forwarding data to client success teams
His team handles 800-900 calls monthly.
To process these manually would require:
10 people minimum
Lower accuracy
Higher costs
More management
Instead, AI agents now,
Process all calls as they happen Create accurate to-do lists Summarize conversations properly Connect with previous email threads Ensure no detail is missed This Isn't About Replacing Your Team Both Andre and I agree: completely AI-driven companies aren't the goal.
The question isn't "How can AI replace humans?"
The right question is, "How can your current team members maximize performance using AI?"
The New Hiring Question Before adding headcount, ask yourself,
