The $25 Lead That Actually Costs You $300
Business owners love to brag about cheap leads. They look at their ad dashboard, see a twenty-five dollar cost per lead, and think they are crushing it. But they are only looking at the surface math, and surface math will bankrupt you.
If you get one hundred leads at twenty-five dollars each, you spent two thousand five hundred dollars. But if only forty percent of those leads are actually qualified, your real cost per qualified lead just jumped to over sixty dollars. If your sales team only closes ten percent of those qualified conversations, your actual cost to acquire a customer is three hundred dollars.
That twenty-five dollar lead is a myth. The only metric that actually matters is your cost per acquisition. If you are selling a one thousand dollar service and it costs you three hundred dollars to acquire a customer, you have a profitable machine. You can confidently scale your ad spend because you know the real math. But if you are just chasing cheap clicks without tracking the entire funnel, you are throwing money into a void.
