If you've been getting a lot of unqualified leads, you need to send the right data back to Facebook.
I get on a lot of calls where businesses tell me, "Yeah, the cost per lead is good, but we're getting a lot of unqualified leads. Lead flow is not an issue."
That translates to: you still have a lead flow issue. Because you're getting unqualified leads, and qualified leads are the only thing that matters.
You're not going to sell to unqualified traffic unless you have some sort of low-ticket offer for them.
To solve this on Facebook ads, you need to make sure you're sending the right data back to Facebook.
Here's what's happening, you're letting 20 unqualified people become leads. You're basically telling Facebook, "Yes, this is a person I want as a lead."
But if you add conditional logic where you're actively rejecting people throughout the application process, you're training the data you send back to Facebook.
Let's say you have six to seven qualifying questions. As soon as somebody says something that doesn't fit your qualification criteria, you immediately disqualify them.
When you disqualify them, Facebook doesn't count them as a lead.
Facebook asks itself, "Why did this person click, take some actions, then get disqualified? Got it. This type of person, he doesn't like."
Then the next person comes, fills out the whole form correctly, goes through, books a call.
Facebook thinks, "This data we got - he wants more of these type of people. Got it."
Facebook will start optimizing your ads for those specific qualified people.
That's why interest-based and demographic targeting isn't doing as well anymore. It's mainly algorithm-based targeting now.
As long as you have:
A good ad Proper qualification in your funnel A good funnel in place You'll be fine with Facebook ads.
Do exactly this, and you'll immediately start getting qualified leads instead of wasting money on people who will never buy.
