How to Properly Frame Yourself in Talking Head Reels

I have a strong background in production and the TV side as well before short form content was a big thing.

Directing shows, editing TV shows (with producers of the Steve Harvey show), making commercials for AARP, ESPN etc.

Knowing this, I want to share some tips on how to properly frame yourself in recordings because most people get this wrong.

When framing yourself on camera, there should be very little room left between your head and the top edge of the frame. Make sure your head or hair doesn’t leave the frame, there needs to be just a couple of inches of gap at the top.

In the next newsletter, I’ll touch on a simple lighting fix you can make to further improve how you appear online or in meetings, using tools you already have.
