Prioritizing Revenue Generating metrics over vanity metrics

“Some people view content just to view content”

there is no action taken ever, and I am roughly quoting this from Alex Hormozi’s YouTube video. Link

He has gained millions of followers and even he is going more direct, because he wasn’t hitting the target numbers, so he experimented on what drives more sales, educational content for people who want to learn more, or entertainment content for people who want be entertained.

There was a point where he only switched to entertainment and his views skyrocketed, and all time highs but his sales numbers went down.

but when we switched to more educational type content, his views weren't as high but his sales went up because he was attracting people who wanted to learn more, There are types of audiences and they want one or the other. To put it simply he is prioritizing Revenue Generating metrics over vanity metrics.

There was also an example of a guy who used to watch a lot of his videos. He's a business owner making $10 million a year. He told him that he doesn’t watch the videos as much anymore because they don't really connect with him like they used to. This feedback hit him hard because this business owner is exactly the kind of person the speaker wants to reach. This made him think about changing the way he makes videos to better suit people like him.

He explained this beautifully in his video, I recommend you watch it
