Poor lighting is effecting the legitimacy of your business
You’ve started creating content, which is fantastic. You’ve picked out topics, structured your reels, and maybe even hired an agency to help. But if your quality looks like it was filmed on a Nokia 3310 which didn’t even have a camera then we’ve got a problem.
Here are a few things you absolutely need to do:
Upgrade Your Camera Setup:
Purchase a separate webcam for your computer setup or start filming on your iPhone with a tripod.
Optimize Your Lighting:
Don’t just use a plain white background. If that’s where your setup is, make sure to sit further from the wall. Being too close to the wall causes any lighting you use to put a shadow behind you, which we don’t want. Push your setup a couple of feet away from the wall to minimize shadows.
If you’re still working with a white wall, consider filling it with items relevant to your brand or using colored lighting to add some flair.
Remember this rule for lighting: The background should not be brighter than you. It either needs to be darker or neutral to complement you, but it shouldn’t outshine you.
When people come across a professional looking set, it gives a strong first impression of professionalism and legitimizes you.
So, I highly recommend you make these adjustments for your content and meetings.
