My Journey From Meta Skeptic to Believer
I’ll be the first to admit it: for a long time, I was a Meta ads skeptic. I’d heard the same complaints from countless business owners. “The leads are low quality.” “They’re just looking for a freebie.” “They never pick up the phone.” And in my early days of experimenting with the platform for my own business, my experience seemed to confirm it. I was burning cash and getting frustrated.
But I couldn’t ignore the evidence. I saw too many businesses, some in my own industry, scaling to millions of dollars in revenue, and their primary growth engine was Meta ads. They weren’t luckier or smarter than me. They just knew something I didn’t. I became obsessed with figuring out what that was. I decided to approach it with extreme logic. Every person who buys a service needs proof. So I focused on getting proof. I put more examples of our work in front of them. I created a nurture system, inviting them to our YouTube channel and posting more valuable content on Instagram.
I called every single lead. I followed up relentlessly. And slowly, a pattern emerged. For every hundred qualified leads, maybe two or three would close. To an outsider, that might sound like a failure. To me, it was proof. It was a signal that this could work. It was enough to keep going. From there, it was a process of continuous improvement. We refined the funnel. We A/B tested our messaging. We figured out what worked, and we scaled it. It wasn’t a single breakthrough; it was a thousand tiny optimizations. The journey from skeptic to believer wasn’t a leap of faith; it was a path paved with data, persistence, and a refusal to accept that it couldn’t be done.
