How Often Should You Post on Social Media? (Here's the Minimum for Every Platform)
YouTube Shorts: Once a day.
LinkedIn: Once a day.
Twitter: As many times as you humanly possibly want. The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, literally tweets dozens of times on a daily basis.
Instagram: One to three times a day.
TikTok: One to three times a day, even more.
However, in the start, your aim should not be posting multiple times a day.
It's actually following the minimum, which is once a day.
Because most people can't even focus on posting once a day because there's just so much work that goes into it.
There's the scripting, the recording, the editing, the publishing, the hashtags, the caption creation.
There's a lot of work that goes into one specific post.
That's why there's a lot of your competitors, maybe people you respect within the industry or admire or follow within the social platforms, spend millions and millions of dollars pretty much on a yearly basis on building these content teams and hiring people to help them create more content effectively.
Because without that system, creating content as a business owner who's doing multiple other things can become extremely difficult.
It's important to have systems because systems is what you lack whenever it comes to posting content consistently.
You might be consistent for a week, two weeks, three weeks, maybe even a month, but that doesn't necessarily matter if you can't be consistent in the next 90 days or 120 days.
Most of the effort usually just dilutes down and you have to start from scratch again.
It's very important that you stay consistent, and consistent doesn't necessarily mean you don't necessarily miss a post at all within those 90 days.
You can miss a post here and there, it doesn't necessarily matter, but you still have to post consistently so even Instagram can start taking you seriously, your followers can start taking you seriously, they can expect you to post.
And of course, on the back end side of things, you need to do a lot of testing on what type of content to post, what type of videos you should be making, because if you're just freestyling them, if you're just creating content to create content, then that's not even a strategy that works nowadays.
If you did that three or four years ago, that might have landed you somewhere, but now every single video needs to have a structure.
And do this, test yourself. Like go to Instagram, TikTok, and see what people, how people make their videos.
You'll see it's very curated, most of the time it's very scripted, and that's all on purpose because they understand human nature, they understand human behavior, and that's who they want to target for mainly.
They want to target that specific stuff so they can capture more eyeballs and attention.
And attention is the new currency, so we have to have some skills, have some assets, so we can capture or buy as much attention as we can, which eventually leads to cash.
Here's what most people don't understand.
Posting once a day sounds simple. But it's not.
Because there's scripting, recording, editing, publishing, hashtags, caption creation.
That's why your competitors spend millions on content teams. They have systems.
And systems is what you lack.
You might be consistent for a week, two weeks, three weeks, maybe even a month.
But if you can't be consistent for the next 90 days or 120 days, most of the effort dilutes down and you have to start from scratch again.
So here's the reality.
You need systems. You need structure. You need strategy.
Because if you're just freestyling, if you're just creating content to create content, that doesn't work anymore.
Every single video needs to have a structure.
Go to Instagram, TikTok, and see how people make their videos. It's very curated. It's very scripted.
That's all on purpose because they understand human nature, they understand human behavior, and they want to capture more eyeballs and attention.
And attention is the new currency.
So if you want to capture or buy as much attention as you can, which eventually leads to cash, you need to have systems, skills, and assets.
Not just good intentions.
