Hiring Quality Applicants using Facebook. With an Example

Most people hiring right now are doing it wrong.

They post on LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, or Indeed. Get 200 applications. Spend hours reading through them. Schedule 20 interviews. Hire someone who ghosts after two weeks.

There's a better way.

I built a hiring system using Facebook ads that filters out time wasters and brings in people who actually want to work for your company.

Here's how it works.

Think about hiring like a sales funnel. You run an ad, send them to a form, qualify them, and only talk to serious candidates.

The setup is simple. Facebook ads account, Zapier, and WhatsApp or SMS.

Start with the ad. If it's a complex role, use video. Explain the responsibilities, requirements, and what's in it for them. Treat it like a pitch. You're selling them on why they should work with you.

Send the traffic to a Facebook lead form with 3 to 8 questions. Use conditional logic on deal breakers.

"Can you work full time?" If they say no, the form ends. If yes, they continue.

Here's where it gets smart.

On the thank you screen, tell them to send a WhatsApp message with the keyword "FINISHED."

This adds healthy friction. People who won't do it aren't serious. People who do are engaged and ready.

You'll get the notification. Ask for a portfolio, send next steps, or book them for an interview.

Use Zapier to push form data into Google Sheets or Airtable. Leads in Facebook expire. Keep your own catalog.

If you want even better quality, add a landing page with a 3 to 8 minute video explaining the role. Tell them they must watch it or the call will be canceled.

You'll get fewer applicants, but the quality is way better.

Once it's set up, it runs on autopilot. You only talk to serious candidates who know who you are and understand the role.

No more reading 200 resumes. No more interviewing people who didn't read the job description.

This works for hiring abroad, U.S. roles, complex positions, simple ones. The key is adding friction at each step so only serious people make it through.
