Everything is a funnel, a stadium example

If you've ever been to a stadium tour, you'll know what I am talking about, but let me give you the run down of how a stadium funnel works which will help you increase more sales for your business.

So you start off buying tour tickets to watch a popular teams home ground (Santiago Bernabeu).

Now the question the tour management team has is, "how do we get these people who have already purchased a tour, to spend more with us" - stay with me, because they will get you to do it in one way shape or form.

So on the actual self guided tour:

  1. You go through all historic images and memories of the club, which are presented in a very elegant manner, and if you're a fan, there are parts throughout where you feel like you're a part of the history and you're living the experiences.

  2. The tour continues, you get the option to get a photo taken of you with the trophy which they state you can later print it out, pricing is not mentioned, they will take the photo for free with the most iconic trophy to get you a little bit more attached. (This happens 1-2 times through the tour)

  3. You continue the tour, you watch some more cool things like, the trophies the teams have won, the current players line, the history behind it, all while some cinematic music plays.

  4. After spending about 45mins-60mins doing the tour, you come to the final place which is the official store of the club, where you can buy souvenirs and shirts etc and of course your photos that you took earlier and have them framed.

People will most likely buy something from there, I know I did, because they've warmed you up, they got you attached. Now imagine if they just started from the store, or left the store open - you most likely won't be as attached to buying anything, because you're not warmed up to it.

I thought it was very smart, and it works online, but from a marketing viewpoint it was cool to see it in person how the whole process happens.
