80/20 Rule Applies to Your Facebook Campaigns

20% of your efforts will generate 80% of your results.

When running Facebook campaigns, here's a simple thing to know
Not every campaign will perform. In fact, out of 10 campaigns you launch, maybe 2 will really succeed, and that’s okay. That’s where the 80/20 rule comes into play.

The 80/20 Rule in Marketing

The 80/20 rule means that 20% of your efforts will generate 80% of your results. When I launch Facebook ads, I don’t put all my faith in just one campaign with one ad. I test multiple campaigns, and let the market (and the algorithm) decide which ones perform best.

Why Testing is Key

There is such a thing as bad advertising, whether it’s on commercials, Google, billboards, or Facebook. How do you know it’s bad? If nobody buys, converts, or remembers.

On Facebook, it’s even more critical that the back end is set up correctly, from your content to funnels, to tracking pixels, conversion metrics, or APIs if applicable. Without these elements in place, you’re just throwing money at the platform and hoping for the best.

The Goal: Optimize for the Winners

The 80/20 rule teaches us to focus on the 20% of ads that work and scale those, instead of wasting time and resources on the ones that don’t. The data will always show you what’s performing, so use it to make smarter decisions.

Don’t rely on luck when running Facebook ads. Test, optimize, and scale.
