5 Biggest Mistakes You Are Making with Social Media Marketing

Let me share the mistakes I keep seeing business owners make with their social media. If you're making any of these, lets start working on them:

  1. Posting Graphics Instead of Video Those generic "20% off this weekend" graphics aren't doing anything for your business. In 2024, if you're not creating video content, you're invisible. Your competitors are already showing their expertise through video while you're posting canva templates. Go to any page with 5k+ followers, you will not see graphics posts, they perhaps might use some graphics.

  2. Trying to Reach Everyone I recently talked to someone with 300K followers who couldn't monetize their account because none of those followers were potential customers. Think about it: Would you rather have 2,000 followers in your local market or 20,000 followers from across the globe who will never buy from you? This applies to any industry serving any industry and the follower count might reflect on your target market size.

  3. Running Ads Without Content Your social profile is your new landing page. If someone clicks your ad and finds an empty profile, you've just wasted that click. Build your content library before spending on ads.

  4. The "Boost" Button Trap Stop hitting the boost button hoping for results. You need actual ad campaigns with proper strategy and customer journey. Random boosted posts are just throwing money away.

Here is The biggest mistake some business owners make, they wait too long to start. Every day you wait, your competitors are building their online presence and talking to your potential customers.

  1. Taking Advice From Your Nephew "My nephew uses Instagram, he can handle our social media." Would you let your nephew do your taxes? Then why let them handle your marketing? Your brand deserves professional strategy, not random posting.
