100% Relying on Referrals Is Limiting Your Growth

If you're running your business, wearing multiple hats, and you have aspirations of growing your business, taking it to the next level, but you just can't see the end of it, you need to start making some strategic moves.

And then look at it from a bird's eye perspective rather than just being on the ground at all times.

Because I want to tackle some limiting beliefs.

One of the limiting beliefs, which I had as well, and I know a lot of the business owners that I speak to have as well, is nobody can replace them on what they do best.

Which is not true.

And if you continue believing this, you are never going to replace yourself.

Therefore you're going to be stuck in the same position you are currently.

As long as you have good training processes, as long as you're willing to invest time in specific individuals who you deem as competent, they're going to do an amazing job.

And of course, if you're hiring somebody full time to do it, they will do that one thing that you hired them for for eight to nine hours on a day to day basis.

They will have much more time on that specific thing.

Their output, their input is going to be way better, and they're going to improve significantly and fast as well.

You just need to invest in somebody competent.

So once you have time in your hands now, you need to be putting most of your efforts into marketing yourself.

Because you need to have more reach, which will lead you to more conversations, which will lead to more bookings and more sales.

And how you do this is putting yourself out there into the world.

Whether it's by video content, which is something we highly recommend, whether it's by paid ads, changing the strategy on a week by week basis or updating it.

And just going super hard on content.

Because that is one place where people genuinely cannot replace you, is you being the authority and you being the expert.

Which is going to bring in a lot of deal flow from other sources like Instagram, Facebook, social media.

Because this is a place you have to understand people live nowadays.

It's an epidemic, if anything, because people are spending most of their life on social platforms.

More than they are in real life.

What they think they see on social media is pretty much real life for them because they're spending more time in this digital world that they have on their phone.

So what I tell people is, hey, might as well just take advantage of this epidemic and sell.

Here's what most people don't understand.

Relying 100% on referrals is a ceiling. Not a foundation.

You can't control referrals. You can't predict referrals. You can't scale referrals.

You're at the mercy of other people's timing, other people's willingness to refer, other people's networks.

And that's not a business. That's hope.

So here's what you need to do.

Replace yourself in the day to day. Train somebody competent. Give them the time and resources to do that one thing full time.

They will do it better than you. Because they're focused. Because they're full time. Because that's their only job.

And once you have time, put all of your efforts into marketing yourself.

Video content. Paid ads. Social media. Authority building.

Because that is the one place nobody can replace you.

You being the authority. You being the expert. You being the face.

That's what brings in deal flow from Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube.

And that's where people live. That's where they spend 4 to 6 hours a day.

So take advantage of it. Show up. Build authority. Sell.

Stop relying on referrals. Start controlling your growth.
